Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SchoolBoard platform ("the Service"). By accessing or using SchoolBoard, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is provided by Eduraa Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Companies House number: 16442434), trading as SchoolBoard ("we", "us", "our"). References to "you" and "your" mean the school, academy, trust, or individual acting on behalf of a school that uses the Service.

1. Service Description

SchoolBoard provides a web-based platform that displays animated house points leaderboards for schools. The Service reads house points data from a school-maintained data source (such as a connected spreadsheet) and generates visual dashboard displays suitable for corridor screens, reception areas, and assemblies.

The Service does not connect to or interact with your Management Information System (MIS) in any way. SchoolBoard reads only from the external data source your school configures (for example, a spreadsheet). You are solely responsible for establishing and maintaining the data pipeline from your MIS to that data source. The configuration, scheduling, formatting, and reliability of any MIS exports, scheduled reports, or data integrations are entirely your responsibility and are outside the scope of the Service.

2. Account Registration

To use SchoolBoard, an authorised representative of your school must sign in using a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

A free trial is set up once Eduraa has approved a request from an authorised representative of your school. The trial is linked to the Google account given in the request, and the trial period begins when we approve it. We reserve the right to decline or suspend accounts at our discretion.

You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your account details up to date.

3. Free Trial

New schools may be offered a free trial of up to 14 days. During the trial period, the Service is provided with full functionality. A SchoolBoard watermark will be displayed on your dashboard during the trial.

At the end of the trial period, you may subscribe to a paid plan to continue using the Service. If you do not subscribe, your access to the dashboard display will be suspended. Your configuration data will be retained for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate.

4. Subscription and Payment

Pro plan: £500 per year, billed annually. Includes all features, no watermark, priority support.

Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) plan: Custom pricing for trusts with multiple schools. Contact us for details.

All prices are exclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is due at the start of each annual billing period. We reserve the right to change pricing with 60 days' written notice before your next renewal date.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 30 days before the renewal date. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods, except at our discretion or where required by law.

5. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Establishing and maintaining the data pipeline from your MIS to your connected data source — including any scheduled reports, export configurations, scripts, or integrations required by your MIS provider
• Ensuring your connected data source (e.g. spreadsheet) is correctly formatted, accurately maintained, and updated on a schedule appropriate for your needs
• Ensuring your connected data source remains accessible to SchoolBoard, including maintaining any sharing permissions or service account access required by the Service
• Deciding what data to include in your connected data source (including whether to include student names)
• Ensuring you have a lawful basis under UK GDPR for any personal data that flows through the Service
• Managing your own MIS credentials — these are never shared with or accessible by SchoolBoard
• Promptly reconfiguring your data source connection in SchoolBoard if your MIS, report format, or column structure changes
• Using the Service in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access other users' dashboards or data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service without our written consent
• Upload content that is offensive, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights
• Attempt to overload or disrupt the Service through excessive automated requests

7. Intellectual Property

The SchoolBoard platform, including its design, themes, animations, icons, and code, is owned by Eduraa Ltd and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Your school retains ownership of all data you provide, including house names, school branding, logos, and uploaded images. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store it and display it within the Service, including on your display link. You confirm you have the right to use any logo or image you upload, and that uploaded images do not show or identify pupils.

The 101 built-in house icons are provided for use within SchoolBoard only and may not be extracted or used outside the platform.

8. Data and Privacy

Our handling of data is governed by our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, our Data Processing Agreement, both of which form part of these Terms. By using the Service, you agree to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

In summary: SchoolBoard reads your Google Sheet data transiently and never stores house points data or student information. Schools that include student names in their data should review our DPA, available at schoolboard.eduraa.co.uk/dpa.

9. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. Where possible, we will provide advance notice of planned downtime.

The accuracy and freshness of your dashboard data depends entirely on the data your school provides via its connected data source. SchoolBoard reads from that source at the refresh interval you configure, but we have no visibility into, or control over, how frequently your MIS exports data, whether your scheduled reports are running correctly, or whether the underlying data is current or accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Eduraa Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for the accuracy, completeness, or freshness of data displayed on your dashboard — this is determined solely by the data your school provides via its connected data source
• We are not liable for any loss or disruption arising from failures in your MIS, MIS-to-spreadsheet data pipeline, scheduled report configuration, export format changes, or any other aspect of your school's data infrastructure
• We are not liable for any loss arising from the unavailability of third-party services (including but not limited to spreadsheet providers, Firebase, or your MIS)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

By you: You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your dashboard will stop displaying at that point.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay fees when due, or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service poses a risk to other users or the platform.

Effect of termination: Upon termination, your dashboard will stop displaying. Your configuration data (house names, settings, etc.) will be retained for 90 days, after which it will be deleted. No house points data requires deletion as none is stored.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
